Further to the last post about disruption due to road surfacing in Queen’s Park and the impact on the number 8 bus serving Great Denham, Stagecoach have now provided an update on the diversion which will operate during the resurfacing work:

Service No 8
Between 08:00am and 6:00pm each weekday, starting on Wednesday 19th July up to and including Friday 4th August 2023, Old Ford End Road in between Queens Park and Great Denham will be closed to traffic.
The service No 8 will therefore be unable to serve bus stops on Honey Hill Road, Ouseland Road, Old Ford End Road, Chester Road, Oldfield Road or Chestnut Road in Queens Park and the bus stop at Sauton Close on Greenkeepers Road in Great Denham while this road is closed.
The service will instead leave Bedford Bus Station and operate directly to Great Denham via Bromham Road observing the bus stop at Cutcliffe Grove.
The service will then observe all stops at Kingswood Way, King Alfred Way, Anglia Way and Saxon Way before returning to Bromham Road.
The service will then operate along Bromham Road to the junction with Hurst Grove where it will turn right onto Hurst Grove and travel the full length of Hurst Grove turning right onto Ford End Road before turning right onto Westbourne Road where it will then operate as normal to Hurst Grove.
It will then turn left onto Hurst Grove and then right onto Bromham Road returning to the bus station using Hassett Street.
