All Great Denham residents should now have received their polling cards for this referendum: the polling station will be Great Denham Community Hall.
Great Denham’s Neighbourhood Plan reflects the feedback given by residents through surveys and consultation events over the last 2 years in its policies. The referendum will decide the following question by a simple majority of those voting:
“Do you want Bedford Borough Council to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Great Denham to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?”
Neighbourhood Planning was introduced by the Localism Act in 2011 to give communities more control over the future of their area, by setting out the community’s vision for its area, and establishing general planning policies for the development and use of land.
More information on Great Denham’s Plan, together with the other documents that accompany it (a new Design Guide and a Green Infrastructure Plan) can be found on the website.
