Update from the Policing team
Prior to Feb 2022 the community identified speeding and vehicle related crime and anti-social behaviour as the number one community priority. Since February 2022, your rural policing team have reviewed all reports of theft from vehicles, theft of vehicles and reports of vehicle reported anti-social behaviour. We have proactively taken steps to address the culture and attitude of those driving through our green patch of the county with high visibility patrols and traffic operations.
Since February 2022 we have:
- Conducted 142 speed enforcement operations with the use of speed monitoring devices.
- Issued 45 speeding tickets, with hundreds of drivers stopped and offered advice.
- We have conducted 163 visits to victims of vehicle related crime.
- In addition to our daily patrols around our towns and villages, we have conducted 89 intelligence lead patrols.
- In just the last six weeks we have recovered four stolen vehicles from our area (all stolen from outside our geographic footprint).
I am very grateful to everyone who has supported us to date. The support in providing speeding data and reporting incidents is greatly valued, as it allows us to target our limited resources.
